The Kia Sportage line-up heads into MY24 with unchanged pricing and specifications. A turbocharged hybrid arrives early in 2024.
Kia Australia hasn’t made any major changes to the 2024 Sportage line-up.
The MY24 range opens once again with the Sportage S manual at $32,795 before on-road costs, and stretches to $52,720 before on-road costs for the flagship GT-Line AWD diesel.
Kia Australia is gearing up to introduce the 2024 Sportage Hybrid to the line-up early next year. Local product planning boss Roland Rivero confirmed production of the Sportage Hybrid for Australia is expected to begin during the fourth quarter of 2023 ahead of an early 2024 arrival.
Pricing for the hybrid is yet to be detailed, however CarExpert anticipates a $4000-$5000 premium based on the pricing structure for the larger Sorento Hybrid.
Earlier this year, Kia Australia stopped taking new orders for the flagship GT-Line grades until it clears its backlog due to semiconductor shortages.
“Sportage GT-Line production is limited [currently] due to component shortages,” said Kia Australia product planning boss Roland Rivero.
“We have a large number of backorders accumulating – enough to cover 12 months’ worth of demand – and as a result we have stopped taking orders until production returns to some form of normality.”
