Audi Australia has detailed the pricing and specification of the RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Sportback Performance ahead of their imminent arrival in Australian showrooms.

Both of these new RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Sportback Performance models will replace the existing RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback.

The RS6 Avant Performance is priced from $241,500 before on-roads, whereas the RS7 Sportback priced form $248,500 before on-roads. These are both $9300 more expensive than the non-Performance models.

Both models are still powered by a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine, but it has been boosted to produce 463kW of power and 850Nm of torque – up 22kW and 50Nm over the regular versions.

Audi claims to have been able to increase the engine outputs by upping the boost pressure from 2.4 to 2.6 bar.

The company also claims both of these models can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.4 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the regular versions.

Both models have reduced insulation between the engine and cabin, as well at the rear of the vehicle, which means the sound from the sport exhaust system will travel more easily into the cabin. It also reduces weight.

The Audi RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Sportback Performance retain the same level of specification as the regular models, though they adopt a special wheel and tyre package.

There are 22-inch gloss silver and black metallic alloy wheels that are 5kg lighter than the 22-inch aluminium wheels from the regular RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback.

These wheels are wrapped in specially developed Continental Sport Contact 7 285/30 tyres. They are claimed to help reduce the 100-0km/h braking distance by two metres.

    Pricing

    • 2024 Audi RS6 Avant Performance: $241,500
    • 2024 Audi RS7 Sportback Performance: $248,500

All prices are before on-road costs.

    Powertrains

The Audi RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Sportback Performance are both powered by a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system producing 463kW of power and 850Nm of torque. This is up 22kW and 50Nm over the regular versions.

The claimed 0-100km/h time for both models is 3.4 seconds.

This bi-turbo V8 is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with faster shift times, and drive sent through a permanent all-wheel drive system. There’s also a self-locking centre differential that’s lighter and more compact, which is claimed to improve driving dynamics and offer more precise cornering.

There are six different drive modes available, including efficiency, comfort, auto, dynamic, as well as two customisable RS 1 and RS 2 modes.

    Efficiency

Audi hasn’t detailed the claimed fuel economy for the RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Sportback Performance, though the regular versions used a claimed combined 11.7 and 11.6 litres per 100km, respectively.

Both models come with cylinder deactivation, as well as a 48V mild-hybrid system. The latter allows the engine stop-start system to switch off the engine at speeds up to 22km/h.

Both models require a minimum of 98 RON premium unleaded petrol.

    Dimensions

Audi hasn’t detailed exterior dimensions or boot capacities for the RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Sportback Performance, though there likely to mirror the regular versions.

The RS6 Avant measures in at 4995mm long, 1951mm wide, and 1490mm tall, with a 2933mm wheelbase.

The RS7 Sportback on the other hand is 5009mm long, 1950mm wide, and 1434mm tall, with a 2934mm wheelbase.

With the second row of seats upright, the RS6 Avant has 565 litres of boot capacity, which expands to 1680 litres with them folded. Audi doesn’t quote boot capacity figures for the RS7 Sportback.

    Servicing and Warranty

The Audi RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Sportback Performance are both covered by a five-year warranty. Owners also receive five years of complimentary roadside assistance.

Audi is offering five-year service plans for both models, which both currently cost $5380 for both the regular models.

The company also allows customers to purchase an additional two-year package to extend their warranty, servicing and roadside assistance.

New vehicle owners can purchase two-year programs back-to-back at the time of purchase, or at a later date up to eight years old. This allows new vehicle owners to extend their warranty for up to nine years.
