The electric Peugeot e-2008 crossover will be priced at $59,990 before on-road costs when it arrives here later this year.
UPDATE, 06/09/2023 – Our review of the Peugeot e-2008 has now gone live. We’ve updated this story as the full specification list is now available.
Peugeot says a “limited initial allocation” will arrive in showrooms in the third quarter of 2023.
The new electric SUV is available to pre-order now.
It’s distinguished from regular 2008 models by its body-colour grille slats, as well as e-2008 badging.
The e-2008 follows shortly after the e-Partner van, Peugeot’s first electric vehicle in Australia, which is the exact same price as the electric crossover. It also features the same electric powertrain.
Peugeot Australia says it’s in the final evaluation stages of bringing the e-208 light hatch Down Under, which could arrive later this year. It’s also evaluating the mid-sized e-Partner van.
The rollout of electric vehicles follows a similarly extensive rollout of plug-in hybrids over 2022 and 2023, with PHEV versions of the 308, 3008 and 508 now on sale.
Price excludes on-road costs.
The 2023 Peugeot e-2008 features a single electric motor with 100kW of power and 260Nm of torque, with a claimed 0-100km/h time of 9.0 seconds.
It’s front-wheel drive.
The 2023 Peugeot e-2008 uses a 50kWh battery and offers a claimed range of 328km on the WLTP test cycle.
It can be charged with AC power at up to 11kW and with DC power up to 100kW. With the latter, it will take thirty minutes to charge from 0 to 80 per cent.
The 2023 Peugeot e-2008 measures 4300mm long, 1987mm wide and 1550mm tall on a 2605mm wheelbase.
It has 434L of boot space. Folding the rear seats expands this to 1467L, measured to the roof.
The Peugeot e-2008 is backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty. There’s also an eight-year, 160,000km warranty for the high-voltage battery.
The first five services are capped at $258, $360, $258, $374 and $272, or $1522 over the course of five years. Intervals are every 12 months or 25,000km, whichever comes first.
Three- and five-year pre-paid service plans are also available, priced at $600 and $1000, respectively.
While the petrol-powered Peugeot 2008 has a five-star safety rating from ANCAP, the electric model has yet to be assessed.
The Peugeot e-2008 comes standard with the following standard safety equipment:
This is in addition to front, side and curtain airbags.

The e-2008 will come standard with Orange Fusion paint.
