The 2022 Porsche Macan has been spied again boasting subtle exterior and extensive interior updates.
The exterior updates look to be mild and focused around the front and rear bumpers.
The front has a slightly redesigned grille and air intakes, while down back the rear reflectors have been relocated.
Similar to a previously spied version of the Macan, the Sport Design mirrors are attached to this prototype suggesting they could become standard with this facelift.
Inside the facelifted Macan, the updates are concentrated around the new centre console and Cayenne-styled infotainment display.
Gone is the button fest of the current model, and instead there are more touch-capacitive surfaces.
This also extends to the buttons under the main infotainment screen.
The steering wheel is also new to the Macan, bringing it in line with Porsche’s latest Panamera refresh.
Although it’s not shown, there could be powertrain revisions with the potential of incorporating mild-hybrid systems.
Since the Macan’s Australian debut in 2014, the top-selling model has had two refreshes, with the last being in 2018.
Alongside this refreshed, petrol-powered Macan, Porsche is designing an all-new, all-electric Macan.
The Macan EV is expected to be sold together with the internal combustion engine model for a number of years.
Scheduled for release in 2022, this fully electric Macan will use Porsche and Audi’s all-new electric architecture, the Premium Platform Electric (PPE).
It isn’t clear what electric powertrains the new Macan EV will use, though we expect the model to follow the same naming structure as the Taycan.
