The latest Lexus NX SUV has earned a five-star ANCAP safety rating, on the back of testing carried out by Euro NCAP.
The NX scored 91 per cent for adult occupant protection, 89 per cent for child occupant protection, 83 per cent for vulnerable road user protection, and 92 per cent for safety assist.
It received a mix of good and adequate ratings for adults in physical crash tests, and earned high scored for child occupants across the board.
ANCAP says the NX scored strongly in most tests, but earned only a marginal rating for how it performed in a vehicle-to-vehicle crash.
The safety body applauded the fact Lexus includes the ability to detect and avoid collisions with motorcycles in its autonomous emergency braking package, something it’ll be pushing with revised criteria set to take hold in January 2023.
“Lexus has provided an impressive suite of safety features and active safety equipment in its latest NX model,” said ANCAP chief executive, Carla Hoorweg.
