The 2022 Ineos Grenadier has landed in Australia, with a test vehicle spotted at Melbourne Airport.
Currently experiencing around six months of development delays, the Grenadier is the brainchild of Jim Ratcliffe, the British billionaire engineer and chairman of multinational petrochemical giant Ineos.
With pricing expected to land around the vicinity of the what Toyota currently charges for its off-road focused 70 Series LandCruiser, the Grenadier will initially launch in Europe before making its way to Australia.
The development vehicle seen here is likely to be in Australia for region-specific software testing (similar to what Jeep did with the new Compass) and potentially hot weather testing in central Australia.
Ineos recently unveiled the interior of the Grenadier, which sticks to grass roots features, but dips a toe in the technological space with a high-tech infotainment system and BMW running gear.
We’ll keep you posted if we hear more about the Grenadier’s appearance on Australian shores and a shout out to our friends at 4WD TV for sharing these images.
