Bright red Haval Jolion Vanta special edition is priced at $34,485 drive-away. It follows the larger H6 Vanta.
The Haval Jolion is the next to get the blacked-out Vanta treatment.
Like the special edition H6 Vanta revealed last month, the Jolion Vanta is based on the range-topping Ultra grade.
Just 500 will be offered, each finished in Mars Red metallic paint. The H6 Vanta, in contrast, is offered in four colours.
It’s priced at $34,485 drive-away, compared to $32,990 drive-away for the Jolion Ultra.
We’ve contacted GWM Haval Australia to confirm when it’ll reach showrooms.
The Vanta treatment sees the Jolion Ultra receive 18-inch black alloy wheels, as well as black on the roof rails, fog lamp surrounds, rear bumper and doors.
It’s not completely blacked out, mind you – there’s still chrome trim around the daylight opening, while the Ultra’s brash chrome grille remains even though the H6 Vanta receives a black grille.
Like the rest of the range, it’s powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 110kW of power and 210Nm of torque to the front wheels.
It’s also covered by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty with five years of capped-price servicing.
As on the Ultra, standard equipment on the Jolion Vanta includes:

You can read our full range breakdown here.
GWM Haval Australia sold 4069 Jolions in 2021, outselling the Suzuki Vitara (3745).
A limited number went on sale in April 2021, with the full range available in showrooms from June 2021.
Given Haval’s enormous sales growth and supply chain strength, it’s entirely possible the Jolion could overtake a couple more segment stalwarts this year.
The range will be bolstered with a hybrid model, which we understand could arrive around the middle of 2022.
Power in the Jolion Hybrid comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor, sending a combined 140kW and 375Nm to the front wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Claimed fuel economy is 4.2 litres per 100km in Thailand, compared to the 8.1L/100km the non-hybrid Jolion uses on the combined cycle test.
