The Audi e-tron GT is available in two dual-motor all-wheel drive variants with 488km of range. Prices start at $181,700 before on-road costs.
The svelte, shapely Audi e-tron GT is here in September, joining the more conventional e-tron crossover.
While the e-tron and e-tron Sportback SUVs are loosely based on the underpinnings of the Q5 and Q7 (MLB), the e-tron GT shares its dedicated J1 electric vehicle platform with the Porsche Taycan.
Pricing kicks off at $181,700 before on-road costs, with the hotter RS e-tron GT ringing up at $249,700 before on-road costs.
All buyers receive six years of free scheduled servicing and roadside assistance, plus a six-year free subscription to the Chargefox network with unlimited charging.
While the Porsche Taycan is available in a more affordable rear-wheel drive variant with a smaller 79.2kWh battery, all e-tron GT models in Australia come with dual-motor all-wheel drive and a 93.4kWh battery.
All prices exclude on-road costs.
The Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT both use a 93.4kWh lithium-ion battery, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and a two-speed transmission on the rear axle.
The e-tron GT produces 350kW of power (390kW in boost mode) and 630Nm of torque, good for a 0-100km/h time of 4.1 seconds, while the RS e-tron GT produces 440kW (475kW in boost mode) and 830Nm and hits 100km/h in 3.3 seconds.
Both Audi e-tron GT models have a claimed WLTP driving range of 488km.
Energy consumption for the e-tron GT is rated at 23.6kWh/100km, while for the RS e-tron GT it’s 22kWh/100km.
Thanks to an 800V electrical architecture, the e-tron GT can be charged at up to 270kW on a DC charger, which allows for 100km of range to be added in just five minutes.
In RS e-tron GT guise, Audi’s new electric car measures 4989mm long, 1964mm wide (2158mm including the mirrors) and 1414mm tall on a 2900mm wheelbase.
The e-tron GT weighs 2351kg unladen, while the RS e-tron GT is 2422kg.
Audi covers its cars with a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
All e-tron GT buyers receive six years of free scheduled servicing and roadside assistance.
The Audi e-tron GT has yet to be tested by ANCAP or Euro NCAP.
