Updates don’t come around often for the venerable Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series, and there are none to speak of for 2021.
It received a standard 6.1-inch infotainment system across the range last year, which includes Bluetooth and satellite navigation.
The SUV and ute range is unchanged for 2021, including the pricing. It starts at $67,400 before on-road costs for the Workmate wagon, topping out at $75,600 before on-roads for the GXL Double Cab.
There’s really nothing else like the 70 Series on the market, with its turbo-diesel V8 engine, mandatory manual transmission, and styling that’s changed little since its introduction back in 1985.

Safety
The LandCruiser 70 Series was tested by ANCAP back in 2016 and received five stars, however this was for the single cab-chassis variant only.
If tested today, it’s unlikely the LandCruiser would score five stars due to a lack of active safety technology such as autonomous emergency braking.
The single cab-chassis variant has dual front and curtain airbags plus a driver’s knee airbag, however the other 70 series models only have dual front airbags.
