2021 Renault Captur price and specs

Change is afoot at Renault Australia, but it’s still rolling out new products.

Order books for the 2021 Renault Captur are open ahead of first deliveries in April 2021.

Three models of the Captur, which shares its bones with the Nissan Juke, will be available in Australia with prices starting at $28,190 before on-road costs.

It will be the cheapest Renault car or SUV in Australia when it touches down, with the Kadjar SUV retired early and plans to replace the ageing Clio hatchback axed.

Power comes from a four-cylinder petrol engine which actually puts the Juke in the shade for both power and torque.

Engines

Only one engine will be offered in the 2021 Renault Captur.

The four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine has 113kW of power and 270Nm of torque.

It’s mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission across the range.

Fuel Economy

Claimed fuel economy for the 2021 Renault Captur is 6.6L/100km on the combined cycle.

Dimensions

The 2021 Renault Captur measures 4227mm long, 1797mm wide and 1567mm tall, with a 2639mm wheelbase.

Boot space is 422L with the rear seats in place, 536L including under-floor storage and the rear bench slid forward, and 1275L with the rear seats folded flat.

Safety

The 2021 Renault Captur has a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating based on testing carried out in 2019.

It scored 96 per cent for adult occupant protection, 83 per cent for child occupant protection, 75 per cent for vulnerable road user protection, and 74 per cent for safety assist.
