Jaguar Land Rover has recalled the 2021 Evoque to fix a problem with driver’s seatbelt.
“Due to a manufacturing issue, the vehicle-sensitive locking mechanism in the driver sear belt assembly may not lock as designed when the retractor body or vehicle is decelerated or tilted,” the company says in its recall notice.
“In the event of an accident or hard braking, the driver’s seat belt may not operate correctly, increasing the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”
Jaguar Land Rover Australia will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
