2021 Peugeot 3008 price and specs

Peugeot has given its most important and best-selling model a new look for 2021.

The 2021 Peugeot 3008, on sale now, wears a striking new face almost identical to that of the its stretched, seven-seat 5008 sibling.

A plug-in hybrid version is coming later in 2021, but the updated range will launch with petrol and diesel power only.

The base price has increased by $1000 to $44,990 before on-road costs, while at the opposite end of the range there’s a new GT Sport flagship.

It features a more powerful version of Peugeot’s turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine with 133kW of power and 250Nm of torque, up 12kW and 10Nm on the standard mill.

The GT Sport also features a black exterior pack plus larger, 19-inch alloy wheels.

There’s an intricate new grille plus plunging, fang-like LED daytime running lights and indicators, much like those on the redesigned 2008.

The strip lights also include a Fog Mode, which replaces conventional fog lights.

Peugeot says that by activating the fog lights, the strip lights integrate with the LED headlights to illuminate the low-beam lights at a lower intensity.

The tail lights are now entirely LED and feature dynamic indicators and feature a smoked finish so they blend in with the horizontal black trim panel.

Inside, there’s a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a high-mounted 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, part of what Peugeot calls its digital i-Cockpit.

The 3008 is an important model for Peugeot, especially in Australia.

Last year, Peugeot sold 881 examples of the 3008 locally, or three times as many vehicles as Peugeot’s next best-seller.

Engines

The 2021 Peugeot 3008 offers a choice of three engines.

The Allure and GT petrol use a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine producing 121kW of power and 240Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The GT Sport also uses a turbocharged 1.6-litre, albeit with automatic stop/start, an eight-speed automatic, and outputs of 133kW and 250Nm.

The GT diesel uses a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder with automatic stop/start, an eight-speed automatic, and outputs of 131kW and 400Nm.

Claimed 0-100km/h times are 9.9 seconds for the Allure and GT petrol, 8.8 seconds for the GT Sport and 9.0 seconds for the GT diesel.

All models are front-wheel drive.

Fuel Economy

The 2021 Peugeot 3008 uses 7.3L/100km on the combined cycle in Allure trim, 7.0L/100km in the GT petrol, 5.0L/100km in the GT diesel, and 5.6L/100km in the GT Sport.

CO2 emissions are 165g/km in the Allure, 156g/km in the GT petrol, 130g/km in the GT diesel and 128g/km in the GT Sport.

All models have a 53L fuel tank.

Dimensions

The 2021 Peugeot 3008 measures 4447mm long, 1624mm tall, and 1906mm wide (2098mm including the mirrors) on a 2675mm wheelbase.

Boot space is 591L up to the window line, while total luggage space with the second row folded is 1670L up to the roof.

Petrol models weigh 1371kg (tare) and have a maximum braked towing capacity of 1550kg while diesel models weigh 1448kg and can tow 2000kg.

Servicing and Warranty

The 2021 Peugeot 3008 has a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.

It requires servicing every 12 months or 20,000km, whichever comes first.

Peugeot offers five years of capped-price servicing, with the Allure and GT petrol costing $2768 in total to service, the GT Sport costing $2639, and the GT diesel costing $2841. Prices for each service are in the table below:

The Peugeot 3008 has a five-star rating from ANCAP based on testing conducted in 2016.
