Mazda’s first electric vehicle has been priced for Australia.
The MX-30 Electric will be available in one trim level, priced at $65,490 before on-road costs.
You can pre-order one from today, May 5, 2021, with deliveries beginning in August 2021.
There’ll be an initial release of just 100 models, and the MX-30 Electric will be sold in 100 dealers nationwide.
Mazda is also offering the MX-30 Electric with its Mazda Assure guaranteed future value program through Mazda Finance.
Offered over a four-year loan term, this program gives consumers lower monthly repayments and gives them the option of trading-in, keeping or returning their MX-30 once the loan term ends.
This is subject to the MX-30 not exceeding an agreed mileage or having unreasonable wear and tear.
Mazda is also offering a fixed-rate loan option with a seven-year term, where consumers can opt to trade in or keep the vehicle at the end of the term.
Pricing

Price excludes on-road costs.
Premium paint is a $495 option, while Mazda is also offering two three-tone exterior options.
Soul Red Crystal Metallic or Ceramic Metallic paint finishes are available with grey pillars and a black roof, while Polymetal Grey is matched with silver pillars and a black roof.
These finishes cost $1490 except for Ceramic Metallic, which is $995.
Engine
The 2021 Mazda MX-30 Electric uses a 35.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a single electric motor producing 107kW of power and 271Nm of torque.
Power is sent to the front wheels via a single-speed reduction gear transmission. Paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel adjust the level of regenerative braking.
The motor, inverter, DC-DC converter and junction box are integrated into a single high-voltage unit mounted towards the front of the vehicle while the battery pack is situated beneath the floor.
Economy
The 2021 Mazda MX-30 Electric’s claimed electric range is 200km under the stricter WLTP standard.
Dimensions
The 2021 Mazda MX-30 measures 4395mm long, 1795mm wide and 1545mm tall, with a 2655mm wheelbase.
Boot space is 311L with the rear seats in place.
Servicing and Warranty
The MX-30 is backed by Mazda’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, with an eight-year warranty for the lithium-ion battery pack.
Mazda offers five years of servicing capped at $1273.79, or $668.21 less than the mild-hybrid MX-30.
Safety
The 2021 Mazda MX-30 has a five-star ANCAP rating based on testing carried out by Euro NCAP in 2020.
It scored 91 per cent for adult occupant protection, 87 per cent for child occupant protection, 68 per cent for vulnerable road user protection, and 74 per cent for safety assist.
Atop 10 airbags, the MX-30 features the following safety equipment:
