The Maserati Levante, the brand’s best-selling vehicle, has received some technology and design updates for 2021.
While it misses out on the larger, 10.1-inch touchscreen of the updated Ghibli and Quattroporte, its 8.4-inch screen has improved resolution and more of a curved look to it.
It also runs the new Android Automotive operating system with a classier user interface.
Other interior tweaks include restyled analogue gauges and a higher-resolution 7.0-inch information screen in the instrument cluster, with graphics that match the new touchscreen interface.
Outside, there’s a restyled front grille and tail light graphics.
The Levante’s suite of safety features has been supplemented with Active Driving Assist, which helps keep the vehicle centred in its lane on any well-maintained road at speeds of up to 145km/h, provided you’ve activated the adaptive cruise control.
All prices exclude on-road costs.
The 2021 Maserati Levante offers a range of petrol V6 and V8 engines.
The 350 comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 producing 257kW of power and 500Nm of torque, with a 0-100km/h time of 6.0 seconds.
S models have higher outputs of 321kW of power and 580Nm of torque, cutting the 0-100km/h sprint down to 5.2 seconds.
The GTS has a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 engine producing 405kW of power and 730Nm of torque, while the Trofeo ups those figures to 441kW and 730Nm. 0-100km/h times are 4.2 and 4.1 seconds, respectively.
All Levante models feature all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2021 Maserati Levante uses 11.6L/100km in the 350, 11.8L/100km in the S and 13.5L/100km in the GTS and Trofeo.
All models have an 80L fuel tank and require premium unleaded fuel.
The 2021 Maserati Levante measures 5005mm long, 1693mm tall and 1981mm wide (2158mm including the mirrors).
The GTS and Trofeo are slightly longer and taller, at 5020mm long and 1698mm tall.
Kerb weight ranges from 2109kg for the base model to 2170kg for the Trofeo.
Maserati offers a three-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty and the choice of two three-year servicing plans.
The Premium package covers all inspections and replacements of consumables and costs $2750, while the Premium Plus includes replacement front and rear brake pads, front and rear brake discs, and wiper blades and costs $5320.
The plans are slightly more expensive for V8-powered Levante models, costing $2935 and $6030, respectively.
The Levante requires servicing every 12 months or 20,000km, whichever comes first.
The Maserati Levante hasn’t been tested by ANCAP or Euro NCAP.
