2021 LDV D90 price and specs

It’s the cheapest large, body-on-frame seven-seat SUV and it’s staying that way for 2021.

The 2021 LDV D90 SUV is the Chinese-owned brand’s alternative to the likes of the Ford Everest and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

Pricing and specification is unchanged for 2021.

Available in petrol or diesel variants as well as two or four-wheel-drive, the D90 has a wider variety of options than its Chinese rival, the Haval H9.

Engines

The 2021 LDV D90 is available with two different engines.

A 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder sits as the entry level option, offering 165kW of power and 350Nm of torque. It’s available with both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.

A 160kW/480Nm 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine is available in the Executive.

Petrol models feature a six-speed automatic gearbox while the diesel model uses an eight-speed automatic.

Fuel Economy

The 2021 LDV D90 uses 10.2L/100km in rear-wheel drive petrol models, 10.9L/100km in four-wheel drive petrol models and 9.1L/100km in the diesel.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 75 litres.

Dimensions

The LDV D90 measures 5005mm long, 1932mm wide and 1875mm tall with a wheelbase measuring 2950mm.

Boot space is 343L with all seven seats up but drop the last row and that grows to 1350L. Total luggage space with the second and third rows folded is 2382L.

Tare weight ranges from 2085kg in the base rear-wheel drive model to 2370kg in the Executive diesel.

Braked towing capacity is 2000kg in petrol models and 3100kg in the diesel, while all D90 models have an unbraked towing capacity of 750kg.

Servicing and Warranty

All 2021 LDV D90 models come with a five-year/130,000km new car warranty.

Five years or 130,0000kms of roadside assist is also included.

The first scheduled service – six months or 5,000kms – is free. Servicing is required every 12 months or 15,000km.

Safety

The LDV D90 scored a five-star ANCAP safety rating when tested in 2017.

It received a frontal offset score of 14.05 out of 16, a side impact score of 16 out of 16, a whiplash protection rating of Good and a pedestrian protection rating of Acceptable. The overall score was 35.05 out of 37.

The car comes fitted wit hsix airbags including two for driver and front passenger, two side bags and two full-length curtain airbags.
