2021 Hyundai Venue price and specs

Hyundai has given its pint-sized Venue crossover some specification tweaks for 2021, and bumped up prices by $500.

Despite the price increase, the Venue is still Hyundai’s cheapest model and undercuts the updated i30 hatchback range by $2730.

The Venue Go name has gone, with the base model – simply called Venue – ditching its 15-inch steelies for 15-inch alloys and adding premium cloth upholstery.

Both the base Venue and mid-spec Active pick up wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, though the top-spec Elite sticks with wired smartphone mirroring as it uses a different multimedia unit with embedded satellite navigation.

All models also pick up a new centre console bin while the Active gets new front seat bolsters.

The Venue Active also keeps the 17-inch alloy wheels it picked up as a running change earlier this year; ditto the range-topping Venue Elite and its keyless entry and start.

Engines

The 2021 Hyundai Venue is available only with front-wheel drive and with a single engine, a naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre four-cylinder with 90kW of power and 151Nm of torque.

Each variant offers a choice between a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission except for the flagship Venue Elite, which is offered only with the automatic.

Fuel Economy

The 2020 Hyundai Venue consumes 7.0L/100km on the combined cycle when equipped with a manual transmission, and 7.2L/100km when equipped with the automatic.

It requires 91RON regular unleaded fuel.

Dimensions

The 2020 Hyundai Venue measures 4040mm long, 1592mm tall and 1770mm wide.

It has 355L of luggage space.

Servicing

The 2021 Hyundai Venue requires maintenance every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first.

Hyundai offers a Lifetime Service Plan with capped-price services over the course of the Venue’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty. The average cost of a service over this period is $315.

Safety

The Hyundai Venue has a four-star safety rating from ANCAP.

All models received an adult occupant protection score of 91 per cent, child occupant protection score of 81 per cent, vulnerable road user protection score of 62 per cent and a safety assist score of 62 per cent.

All 2021 Hyundai Venue models feature autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with forward-collision warning as well as lane-keeping assist, and front, front-side and curtain airbags.

The Venue Elite adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
