The lithe Audi e-tron GT appears to have made the transition to production vehicle without losing any of its concept car allure.
The slinky electric four-door first debuted in concept form at the 2018 Los Angeles motor show.
A production debut was expected by the end of this year with deliveries beginning in Europe next year.
Peer past the camo and you can make out the prominent shoulder line from the concept, as well as the pert tail. The tail lights also look identical to those of the concept.
The e-tron GT uses the same J1 platform as the Porsche Taycan and measures 4.9m long, 1.96m wide and 1.38m tall. That’s fractionally shorter than an Audi A7 but slightly wider and lower.
The concept car was powered by a pair of electric motors and a 90kWh lithium-ion battery, with a combined system output of 434kW and an estimated range of 400km under the tougher WLTP standard. Audi claimed a 0-100km/h time of 3.5 seconds.
Should those specifications carry over with the production vehicle, the e-tron GT will line up relatively closely with the Porsche Taycan 4S in terms of power and range.
The Taycan 4S uses a 79.2kWh battery and produces 390kW on overboost, achieving a range of 407km under the WLTP standard.
With the 93.4kWh performance battery package, those figures surge to 420kW and 463km, respectively.
Don’t expect Audi to offer only a single electric powertrain, however, as the company is weighing using its S and RS nameplates on its electric models.
While we can’t see the interior in these spy photos, the concept vehicle’s cabin wasn’t as zany as most concepts’. Expect it to look largely the same.
