Suzuki Australia is recalling 12 examples of its popular Jimny as its glass could detach.
UPDATE, 28/05/21 – Suzuki Queensland has also issued a recall for four 2020 Jimny SUVs. We’ve updated the article and brought it forward.
“The bond primer applied to the windshield glass and the rear door window glass may have been incorrectly applied to the glass,” the company says in its recall notice.
“The bond primer may not adhere to the glass, water can leak into the cabin and the glass may detach from the vehicle.
“This could result in the glass becoming airborne or falling on to the road, increasing the risk of serious injury or death of other road users.”
Suzuki is contacting owners of affected vehicles.
If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to take it to a Suzuki dealer where the service department will perform a free removal and reinstallation of the windscreen and rear window glass.
If you have any further questions, you can contact Suzuki on 1800 777 088.
