Mercedes-Benz is recalling its Vito van and V-Class people carrier due to a fault with the roof railing.
“The centre support for the external roof railing may become loose or detach while driving,” the company says in its recall notice.
“If the roof railing become loose or detached while loaded this could result in the load being lost.
“Additionally in the event of an accident the roof railing may detach. This would increase the risk of injury or death to the vehicle occupants and other road users.”
If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact a Mercedes-Benz dealer to organise a free inspection, plus a free repair if necessary.
If you have any further questions, you can contact the Mercedes-Benz customer service centre on 1300 300 896.
