Volkswagen Australia has issued a recall for the 2019-2020 model-year Crafter van over concerns a production fault could cause the windows to be damaged and potentially fall off.

“Windows for a limited number of Crafter vehicles may have been incorrectly stored during production and become damaged. Affected windows could allow water into the vehicle and could even fall off the vehicle,” the company says in its recall notice.

“A car window falling onto the road could cause an accident involving other road users, causing potential injuries or death.”

    • 45 vehicles are affected by this recall that were available for sale from 1 July 2018 to 29 September 2020
    • A VIN list of affected vehicles is attached here

Owners of the affected Volkswagen Crafter vans will be contacted directly by Volkswagen Australia to arrange the inspection and repair of their vehicle.
