Mercedes-Benz is recalling two of its plug-in hybrid models due to an electrical fault.

The company has issued a recall for its 2019-20 C300e and GLC300e models as “the shielding of the high-voltage wiring harness may not be able to prevent electrical overload”.

“As a result,” the company says in its recall notice, “a contact point of the high-voltage wiring harness to the power electronics may overload.”

“If this occurs, there could be a loss of the vehicle’s electronics.

“If the vehicle electronics malfunction, the vehicle may stall, increasing the risk of a crash, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

    • A total of seven vehicles are affected.
    • Affected vehicles were available for sale from 1 July 2020 to 18 August 2020.
    • The VIN list is attached here.
    • The original recall notice is attached here.

If you own an affected vehicle, take it to your Mercedes-Benz dealer for a free inspection and repair.
