Suzuki has issued two separate recalls for its rugged Jimny off-roader.
The first affects 2019 and 2020 models and concerns the door harness wires on the driver and passenger doors.
These could be damaged or cut by the repeated motion of opening or closing the doors.
“If the wires are cut or damaged, this may cause the curtain and side airbags to not deploy correctly,” the company says in its recall notice.
“In the event of an accident, this could increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

If you’re an owner of an affected vehicle, Suzuki will contact you. You’ll then need to take your Jimny to a Suzuki dealer for a free inspection and repair.
Suzuki Australia says it’s expecting parts to be available in July 2021.
The other recall affects Jimny models from 2018.
“Due to an incorrect manufacturing process, a component within the fuel pump could swell, causing the fuel pump to become inoperative,” the company says in its recall notice.
“If the fuel pump stops working, this could stop the engine while driving. This may increase the risk of an accident resulting in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
