Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled the X-Class dual-cab ute to fix a problem with the power steering.

According to the company, a hydraulic line connection on the steering gear could leak. If there’s a prolonged leak and the fluid drains completely, power assistance for the steering would stop.

Although the car is still manoeuvrable without power steering, the steering will be much harder to operate, increasing the risk of an accident or injury.

    • A total of 6116 vehicles are included in the recall from model years 2018 to 2019
    • A VIN list of affected vehicles is attached here
    • The original recall notice is attached here

Mercedes-Benz Australia will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
