2016-17 Mercedes-Benz CLA, B-Class recalled
A handful of Mercedes-Benz CLA and B-Class owners will need to head back to their dealership to have a problem with their passenger seat fixed.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled the 2016-2017 CLA and B-Class to fix a problem with the front passenger seat.
According to the company, the sensors in the front passenger seat may identify a child seat as a person, or a light person may be mistaken for a child seat.
In both cases, the mistake could see the airbag set in the wrong mode. If a child seat is mistaken for a person, it will fire when it shouldn’t.
If a person is mistaken for a child seat, the airbag won’t fire in a crash. Both problems create an increased risk of injury to occupants.

Mercedes-Benz will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealership.
