About the Mazda CX-60
S King purchased this Mazda CX-60 new for $94,000 (including all on-road costs). S King wouldn’t buy this car again because: “Car marketed as upmarket premium, and yes it does have many premium features. Unfortunately one of the most important features and function, the ride quality is poor. The suspension needs to be worked on before Mazda can claim they have a truly premium product.
Discussed the issue with the dealer service team but no solution forthcoming to date. Also have some concerns re the transmission very jerky at low speed, stop/start etc.
This concerns me from longevity perspective.”
How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.
So far only driven 1000km so good so far. The transmission is clunky around town when stop start or at low speed.
The suspension is terrible feels every bump. Particularly on country roads. Feels at times you could lose control.
What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?
Aside from the above overall very good. Really enjoying using the battery around town. Car is very comfortable with the Nappa leather seats. Heating and cooling work well.
If the suspension could be corrected we would be much happier.
Hopefully Mazda have a fix on the way.
How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?
Only fair the dealer had insufficient training on the all of the tech in the car. It was the first he had sold of this new model. Also the service department were still learning about this car.
They were able to answer question on features that crossed over from other models. But CX-60 specific questions short on answers.
Are you happy with the price and features of your car?
Car is packed with safety and driver assist features. Value for money.
To be able to charge the car at home and drive around metro Adelaide purely on sunshine is fantastic.
Apple/Android is brilliant. GPS works well. Tan Nappa leather looks fantastic.
What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?
Just over 1000km and still have half a tank of fuel. Trip meter showing 1.4L /100km. Exactly why I purchased this car.
Performance very good. Plenty of power when needed. Taken a couple of country trips and found the had plenty of power when overtaking.
What do you think of the technology in your car?
Almost overwhelming, in a good way. Very intuitive and easy to use. Connects seamlessly to Android Auto.
Sound system very good. Love the heated and ventilated seats and holding a warm steering wheel on a cold morning is a delight. Seat personalisation is nice to have with exit movement of seat very convenient.
What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?
Terrible, country roads the vehicle borders on being unsafe. At times you feel as though you “could” lose control.
Rear cargo floor has bounced out of place on a couple of occasions. Driving within the speed limit, at times with guests on board you feel as though you need to apologise.
Do you have any additional comments about your car?
If Mazda can do something about the suspension and ride, i would be a much happier emissary for Mazda and the CX-60. But as of now not in love. Which is sad as my previous car was a CX-9 Azami.
My daughter owns a CX-3. And I have purchased BT-50, two CX-5s and another CX-9s as company vehicles for staff.
