    About the Mazda CX-8

F F purchased this Mazda CX-8 new for $52,000 (including all on-road costs). F F would buy this car again because: “The car is excellent! Engine is powerful enough (for five adults) and it is very comfortable. The post-sale service from Mazda is very professional.

No issues with the car. The mileage is acceptable for a car on this size (Large SUV) – I get 10 to 11L/100km.”

How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.

The car is extremely reliable. No issues at all!

After I get a report from the service, nothing unusual came up. Even the tyre alignment was perfect. The only thing is that you to take to service it after only 10,000km.

What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?

The car is super comfortable. I love driving this car, due to the driving position (and adjustments). The car seat is very comfortable and the interior is quite nice.

The one thing that I find a bit annoying is that Android Auto and Apple CarPlay does not accept using touch, so only using the dial knob.

How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?

Purchase was a bit hectic, it was during COVID times… So, what can I say? You could NOT choose the car, if you did, please wait another nine months.

Apart from that, the aftercare has been great . No issues with the car and Mazda has been quite professional.

Are you happy with the price and features of your car?

Yes, I think we got a great deal on the car (considering the size, seven seater) and the model and make. Not a lot of features (except for all the safety stuff from Mazda). But the car is excellent. I don’t have any regrets!

What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?

It is a big car and a “normal” engine size (2.5L). So, we tested with seven adults, the car struggles a bit (acceleration).

In terms of economy we get 10L/100km, sometimes 11L/100km. So, I think economy is acceptable.

What do you think of the technology in your car?

The infotainment system I got is 8.0 inches (I think). It is okay, but it feels a bit small compared to all the new cars (like the CX-60). The native system looks really old, something from early 2000.

All the safety stuff is great and I love the HUD.

What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?

The car might look big from the outside, but it is quite easy to handle. It is very easy to manoeuvre inside the city. Parking is a bit more challenging, so having parking sensors (front and back) helps.

The ride is great. The car is very quiet and the same goes for the engine.
