About the Skoda Karoq

Nice looking car comfortable seating. The active safety features in the option pack are great but add to the price some what. I think the blind spot monitoring and auto braking and warning for reversing into traffic is very worthwhile.”
How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.
No real issues after two years.
Have had a glitch where the auto fold mirrors wouldn’t open I had to manually pull them out after trying all the on off tricks… they reset them selves after a few minutes.
I have disabled the feature since (forgot to mention it at service).
What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?
Great, Pennant Hills Skoda have been great.
I have enjoyed the car and look forward to driving it as my other car is actually an SUV (Prado) the Skoda Karoq is really a crossover and is ideal for a city car with lots of space, and easy to park.
How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?
Great. I had the car delivered on a car transporter (included during the Plague Wars) which was great service.
The bonus seven-year warranty seems to be standard now from Skoda. I had seven years service and road aide assist thrown in as well which was great.
Are you happy with the price and features of your car?
Yes. I would prefer it used 91 instead of the more expensive 95 RON petrol.
The price drive-away in 2021 was around $41,000 with the optional pack which really is essential if not on a very strict budget – apart from PU leather seats the active safety features are excellent.
What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?
Performance great for around town and only a rev head that doesn’t mind racking up fines and penalty points would want the 2.0 (showing my age!)
Economy can be amazing if you’re not in traffic I’ve managed a 70km round trip early to the Sydney airport showing 5.5L/100km, otherwise in not heavy local conditions 7.0 to 8.0 litres per 100km.
What do you think of the technology in your car?

I love the Android navigation, and YouTube music. Phone connects well to the screen which is integrated into the dash rather than sticking out as an afterthought as on many cars (particularly EVs).
The active safety features which, unfortunately, were part of an extra pack.
The easy removal of the rear seats individually (3) is not heavy and easy, and has come in handy for a big baggage airport run (baby pram etc etc).
What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?
Ride is great for an SUV style vehicle its really a crossover in Australia.
Handles well around town quiet and smooth eight-speed torque converter which I really like after test driving a DCT which was easily confused.
The 110 is perfect around town and wouldn’t bother with the 2.0 litre unless you are a rev head or do a lot of country driving with overtaking being a big consideration.
