2020 Porsche 911 price and specs

The famously varied Porsche 911 range is a step closer to being fully fulfilled with today’s reveal of the Targa 4 and 4S, ahead of their Australian arrivals later this year.

There are now 12 options in the 911 range, starting with the 911 Carrera and stretching to the 911 Turbo S.

Despite the already-impressive array of options, there are plenty more to come. When it went off sale, the previous-generation 991.2 911 range was offered with a dizzying 24 variants.

Engines

For now, the Porsche 911 range is offered only with turbocharged engines.

The base 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 are powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged flat-six engine with 283kW of power and 450Nm of torque.

Moving to the Carrera S and 4S gets you 331kW and 530Nm. Models with a ‘4’ in their name are all-wheel drive.

The range-topping Turbo and Turbo S draw on a 3.8-litre six-cylinder turbocharged engine with 428kW of power and 750Nm of torque in the Turbo, and 478kW/800Nm in the Turbo S. It’s all-wheel drive as standard.

The only transmission offered across the 911 range is an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. A manual won’t be offered on the regular range, but high-end GT cars are still set to feature three pedals as an option.

All unlisted models don’t yet have a figure for Australia.

Safety

The Porsche 911 range hasn’t been tested by ANCAP.

However, the car is offered with a full suite of active safety assists, including autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring.

Dimensions

The Porsche 911 Carrera and related variants measure 4519mm long, 1852mm wide, and between 1297 and 1930mm tall, with a 2450mm wheelbase.

The lightest model, the 911 Carrera, weighs 1505kg, while the heaviest Targa 4S weighs 1675kg.

Servicing

Porsche doesn’t offer capped-price servicing for the 911, but the car requires maintenance every 12 months or 15,000km.
