Volvo Car Australia has recalled the 2013-2018 V40 hatch, V60 wagon, S60 sedan, and XC60 SUV to fix a problem with the cooling system.
“If the cooling system has to be refilled, air may become trapped in the cooling system which might result in insufficient cooling of the engine components,” the brand says in its recall notice.
“Insufficient cooling may result in damages to engine components and may cause a fire in the engine bay. A fire in the engine bay increases the risk of an accident and injury or death to the vehicle occupants and other road users.”
Concerned owners can call Volvo on 1300 787 802 or email the company at owners@volvo-customers.com for more information.
Affected owners will be contacted and advised to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
