Volvo's next electric car for Australia, the C40 Recharge, will carry a five-star ANCAP safety rating when it touches down.
Volvo’s latest electric SUV has earned a five-star safety rating in testing carried out by Euro NCAP, shared with ANCAP.
The C40 Recharge scored 92 per cent for adult occupant protection, 89 per cent for child occupant protection, 70 per cent for vulnerable road user protection, and 91 per cent for safety assist.
The C40 earned praise for the capabilities of its lane-keeping system and its autonomous emergency braking system.
It was penalised, however, for the risk it posed occupants of an oncoming vehicle in a collision.

The five-star rating for the C40 Recharge was announced alongside a rating for the BYD Atto 3 – although the Atto 3’s rating is only applicable in Europe and New Zealand, and as yet hasn’t been carried over to Australia.
