The latest jewel in the Toyota Crown family has been revealed.
Debuting at this week’s Los Angeles motor show, the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia is the production version of the Crown Estate prototype revealed earlier this year, and will go on sale in North America from 2024.
The Crown Signia rides on the same TNGA-K architecture as the Crown Crossover, Camry, Highlander (Kluger) and RAV4, and is set to be exclusively offered with a 2.5-litre petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain and E-Four AWD. Toyota quotes a system power output of 243hp (181kW) and combined fuel economy of 36mpg (6.5L/100km).
Up front is Toyota’s new signature Hammerhead face, incorporating a signature LED daytime running light seen on the brand’s latest products; while available 21-inch wheels, geometric grille pattern and “flowing roofline” give it a more athletic profile.
Toyota has confirmed five “fashion forward” exterior colour choices at launch – Storm Cloud, Finish Line Red, Oxygen White, Black and Bronze Age – while the interior will be offered in Saddle Tan or Black.
The Crown Signia is strictly a five-seater, and is set to replace the existing Venza (also known as the Harrier) in the US market.
Dual 12.3-inch displays feature in the cabin; one for the driver’s cluster and the other for the touchscreen infotainment system. The latter features connected services as standard and is able to receive over-the-air (OTA) updates. Tech features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard.
Eight-way power adjustment for the front seats come as standard, as are the Crown nameplate’s signature bronze interior trim accents. Heated and ventilated front seats are available, while the 60:40-split second row is claimed to offer a “lounge-like” design for maximum comfort.
The base Crown Signia XLE gets fabric and SofTex upholstery, while the Limited steps up to leather seats with double stitching, quilting and “fillet piping”.
Other notable elements include an available fixed panoramic glass roof with retractable shade, an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system in the flagship Limited, as well as the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 assistance suite as standard.
Speaking of assists, the Crown Signia Limited is available with Toyota’s hands-free Traffic Jam Assist system, as part of the available Drive Connect subscription. At speeds under 25mph (40km/h) in “certain conditions”, the Crown Signia will “control of the vehicle steering, braking and acceleration”.
While the driver’s hands don’t need to be on the steering wheel, the driver monitor system will be constantly checking to make sure the driver’s eyes are on the road to keep the system active.

CarExpert has reached out to Toyota Australia regarding local prospects for the new Crown SUV, though given no other member of the Crown family is earmarked for an Australian introduction, we imagine the Japanese brand won’t be bringing the Signia Down Under.
Toyota Australia currently offers the RAV4 and Kluger, as well as the Lexus NX and RX. The Harrier/Venza has never officially been offered in Australia – though the first two generations of the nameplate were effectively Toyota-badged versions of the first- and second-generation Lexus RX, the latter of which was sold in Australia.
While known as the Harrier in Japan, the mid-sized crossover has been marketed as the Venza in North America and China.
