Toyota Australia’s hottest Yaris, the GR Yaris Rallye, will carry a numbered plaque to emphasise its limited edition nature.
How limited? We don’t really know yet.
Photos of the more focused GR Yaris variant wearing numbered plaques on the centre console have appeared on social media.
Just 200 examples of the Toyota GR Yaris Rallye will be delivered as part of the first Australian allocation, priced from $56,200 drive-away.

Once the first 200 cars are sold, Toyota Australia will revert to a list price of $54,500 before on-road costs, which equates to almost $60,000 drive-away.
It’s not yet clear how many more examples of the Rallye (which borrows parts of its specification from the GR Yaris Circuit Pack overseas) will come to Australia – if any.
That initial drive-away price is a leap from the standard GR Yaris, which launched at $39,950 drive-away, but the exclusivity of the Rallye and its build plaque might go some way to keeping customers happy.
Apart from the numbered plaque, the Toyota GR Yaris Rallye will feature front and rear limited-slip differentials, track-tuned suspension, red interior stitching, red brake callipers with the GR logo, and a set of 18-inch BBS forged aluminium wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S performance tyres.
The Rallye spec for Australia is sold as part of an options pack in Europe.
It remains to be seen whether Toyota Australia will continue with the Rallye branding after the first 200 sales (likely), or if it will offer the extra equipment as an option.
It’s likely additional Rallye models will still be numbered. CarExpert is led to believe the number of GR Yaris models wearing the Rallye badge won’t exceed 1000.
