The 2024 Renault Megane E-Tech is the latest electric vehicle (EV) to receive a price cut in Australia, but you’ll need to be quick to receive the $10,000 discount.
Until June 30, 2024, the Renault Megane E-Tech will be priced from $54,990 before on-road costs in its sole Techno EV60 variant – $10,000 less than its launch price of $64,990.
“Australia has a highly competitive automotive environment, with over 60 car brands competing for an annual new car market of 1.1-1.2 million vehicles, so we have always taken into account the dynamics of such a fast-moving environment,” said Renault Australia general manager Glen Sealey.
“This limited end-of-financial-year offer, at the key selling period of the year, will ensure we remain competitive.”

It joins the three other EVs – the Polestar 2, Peugeot E-2008 and Nissan Leaf – which have had their prices slashed in Australia within the past fortnight, resulting in big savings for prospective buyers.
Since Australian deliveries of the Megane E-Tech began in February 2024, Renault has reported 97 examples as sold.
For context, the Tesla Model Y – priced from $60,900 before on-road costs – notched up 1166 sales in April alone, and leads the way as the best-selling EV in the country.
The Renault Megane E-Tech Techno EV60 is powered by a single electric motor, producing 160kW of power and 300Nm of torque, which drives the front wheels.
Its 60kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides a claimed driving range of 454km on the WLTP test cycle, consuming 15.6kWh per 100km.
It can be charged at up to 7.4kW when hooked up to an AC wall box, or up to 130kW when plugged into a DC public fast charger.
