The Renault Master has been recalled in Australia, with 601 examples impacted by a manufacturing defect that could result in a fire.
Renault Australia has recalled 601 examples of its Master van after discovering a manufacturing defect which could lead to a vehicle fire.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel delivery pipe may become damaged due to contact with the engine wiring harness,” the carmaker’s recall notice says.
“As a result, fuel may leak in the presence of an external ignition source resulting in a vehicle fire.
“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or property.”

If you own an affected Master, Renault has advised you will be contacted in writing to schedule an appointment to have the fuel supply pipe inspected and replaced, free of charge.
