American Special Vehicles is recalling 437 examples of the Ram 1500 pickup because a defective fuel pump could see debris could enter the fuel system.
This recall affects DS-generation versions of the Ram 1500 produced from 2014 to 2019 with the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the High-Pressure Fuel Pump could fail prematurely and introduce failed component debris into the fuel system,” said the company in its recall notice.
“This could impair the fuel supply to the engine and result in a loss of power whilst driving.”
If you own an affected vehicle, Ram Trucks Australia will contact you in writing once parts become available, requesting you to make an appointment at an authorised Ram dealer to have the work carried out free of charge.
If you have further questions you can contact Ram Trucks Customer Assist on 1300 681 792.
