Inchcape, the Australian distributor for Peugeot, is recalling the 508 GT Fastback Plug-In Hybrid and 3008 GT Sport Plug-In Hybrid in two separate recall notices centred around their high-voltage batteries.
The first recall notice affects 108 examples of the 508 GT Fastback Plug-In Hybrid and 3008 GT Sport Plug-In Hybrid produced between 2021 and 2022.
“Due to a software program error, the battery management system software may cause the high-voltage battery to overheat and/or emit smoke,” said the company in its recall notice.
“If left unrepaired, this may result in a potential battery or vehicle fire whilst the vehicle is being recharged and/or in use.”
The second recall notice affects 106 examples of the 508 GT Fastback Plug-In Hybrid and 3008 GT Sport Plug-In Hybrid produced between 2021 and 2022.
“Due to a manufacturing issue, certain plug-in hybrid electric vehicles may not have had the high-voltage battery reinforcing plate or battery cover coated with a protective wax,” said the company in its recall notice.
“If water intrudes, there is a risk of perforation or corrosion of the battery reinforcing plate/battery cover over the life of the vehicle.”
Both recall notices say if you own an affected vehicle to contact your preferred authorised Peugeot dealer to have the work carried out as soon as possible, free of charge.
