Mercedes-Benz Australia is recalling 13 examples of its A-Class, C-Class, GLE, and GLC models, as well as the Mercedes-AMG GT, due to a manufacturing defect that may cause a fuel leak.
This recall affects models A-Class, C-Class, GLE, GLC and AMG-GT models sold between 2019 and 2020.
“Due to a manufacturing defect particles may have been trapped between the fuel rail and injectors damaging the seal causing a fuel leak into the engine compartment,” says the company in its recall notice.
“Leaked fuel may result in a fire if it makes contact with a hot surface in the engine. This could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
