1723 Genesis vehicles are being recalled to fix an issue that could see the seatbelt pretensioner inflator cap fracture in a crash.

Genesis Motor Australia is recalling 1723 examples of the G80, GV60, GV70 and GV80 to fix an issue that may result in flying metal fragments in a crash.
This recall affects Genesis G80, GV60, GV70, and GV80 models produced between 2019 and 2023.
“Due to a manufacturing issue, the seat belt pre-tensioner inflator cap may fracture when deployed in the event of an accident,” said the company in its recall notice.
“If the seat belt pre-tensioner inflator cap fractures, metal fragments may be propelled at high speed towards the vehicle occupants and could cause serious injury.”
If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll be contacted by Genesis Motor Australia and requested to make an appointment at your preferred authorised Genesis dealer for an inspection and repair, free of charge.
