The BMW XM Label Red has officially touched down in Australia.
With a sticker price of $349,900 before on-roads, the XM Label Red uses a more powerful version of the twin-turbocharged V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain from the regular line-up.
Where the regular XM makes 480kW of power and 800Nm of torque, the Label Red packs 550kW and 1000Nm. That’s largely due to a more powerful V8 engine with 430kW and 750Nm, up 100Nm over the standard XM’s engine.
It’s also enough to make it the most powerful BMW M car ever sold in Australia.
The 0-100km/h time has been slashed from 4.3 seconds to just 3.8 seconds.
Claimed electric range is 83km on the WLTP test cycle, and claimed combined fuel consumption is up to 1.7 litres per 100km on the same test – although that assumes a charged battery.
Along with the more powerful Label Red, buyers are being offered the limited-run Label Red Edition, with just 500 vehicles to be produced globally.
30 of these are coming to Australia, finished in BMW Individual Frozen Carbon Black metallic with a waistline accent finished in Toronto Red.
The 22-inch alloy wheels are finished in Jet Black with Red accenting, too, while inside the Merino leather upholstery is finished in Fiona Red and Black. A 1 of 500 plaque also adorns the cabin.
To date in 2023, BMW has delivered 136 examples of the XM in Australia.
It goes head-to-head with everything from top-end versions of the Porsche Cayenne (1478 deliveries) to the likes of the Bentley Bentayga (96 deliveries) and Lamborghini Urus (73 deliveries).
