Mitsubishi Australia has recalled 500 examples of the Outlander, owing to a fault with the popular SUV’s reversing camera system.
“Due to a software issue with the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) unit, the rear-view camera display may not display the rear camera image as intended,” the manufacturer said in its recall notice.
“If the rear-view camera display does not display the rear camera image while reversing the vehicle, it could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to any persons located behind the vehicle.”
If you own an affected Outlander, you’ll need to schedule an appointment at your preferred dealership to have the IVI software updated, free of charge.
If you have any further questions, you can contact Mitsubishi on 1300 131 211.
