    Mercedes-Benz Sprinter recalled

    More than 1000 examples of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter have been recalled as their supplied jack may not be able to support the van.

    Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled 1015 examples of the Sprinter as the supplied jack may collapse while lifting the van.

    “The jack provided with the vehicle may not include a base plate,” the carmaker says in its recall notice. 

    “The jack does not comply with the mandatory standard for vehicle jacks (Consumer Protection Notice No.1 of 2010) Consumer Product Safety Standard for Vehicle Jacks.

    “The vehicle jack may collapse while in use, causing serious injuries or death.”

    • A total of 1015 vehicles built between 2018 and 2023 are affected
    • The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list is attached here

    If you own an affected Sprinter, Mercedes-Benz will contact you to schedule an appointment with your preferred dealer to have the work carried out as soon as possible, free of charge.
