Mercedes-Benz Australia is recalling 1624 examples of its G-Class SUV due to a manufacturing defect with the front axle wiring harness.
This recall affects certain G400d and AMG G63 variants produced from 2018 to 2022.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the front axle wiring harness may come in contact with the oil cooler,” said the company in its recall notice.
“As a result, the wiring harness may chafe and become damaged over time.
“This could impair the operation of safety systems such as the Antilock Braking System (ABS) and the Electronic Stability Program (ESP).”
