Mercedes-Benz EQC recalled
Mercedes-Benz is recalling EQC400 4Matic models sold from 2019 to 2021 as a short circuit could lead to a loss of power steering.
Mercedes-Benz is recalling 324 examples of its EQC electric mid-sized SUV due to a faulty wiring harness for the steering control unit.
This recall only affects certain EQC400 4Matic models sold from 2019 to 2021.
“Due to a manufacturing defect the wiring harness of the steering control unit may be damaged,” the company says in its recall notice.
“The damage can allow water or moisture into the wiring harness, which can cause a short circuit resulting in a loss of electric power steering.
“This can increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders.”
- A total of 324 vehicles are affected

If you own one of the affected vehicles, you’ll need to contact your nearest Mercedes-Benz dealer in order to schedule a free inspection and fix if required.
