Mercedes-Benz Australia is recalling 657 examples of its C-Class and S-Class due to a software problem that may cause the automatic network search for the emergency calling system to be deactivated.
This recall affects C-Class and S-Class models that were produced in 2021.
“Due to a software issue, the automatic network search of the emergency call system (eCall) communication module may be deactivated,” said the company in its recall notice.
“In this case, the automatic and manual emergency call may not be available outside of the network coverage of certain providers.”
