McLaren Australia has recalled 15 examples of the GT sports car, due to a fault which could result in its bonnet opening on the move.
“The manual release cable of the bonnet latch may have excessive tension which potentially may cause the latch to open,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.
“If this occurs, the bonnet could open unexpectedly whilst the vehicle is in motion, obstructing the driver’s view.
“Obstruction of the driver’s view may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

If you own an affected GT, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with a McLaren dealership to replace the bonnet latch, free of charge.
