Kia Australia is recalling 379 examples of its Soul due to a manufacturing issue that may prevent the front airbags from deploying in a crash.

This recall affects Soul models produced from 2013 to 2015.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the Airbag Control Unit may not deploy the front airbags in the event of a crash,” said the company in its recall notice.

“In the event of an accident an airbag not deploying as intended could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact your local Kia dealership to schedule an appointment to have the airbag control unit software updated free of charge.

If you have any further questions you can contact Kia Customer Care on 131 542.
