Kia is recalling 165 examples of its Carnival people mover due to a faulty locking mechanism on the right-hand sliding door.

This recall affects 2021 and 2022 KA4-generation Carnival models.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the locking mechanism on the right-hand sliding door may not latch and could remain stuck in the open position,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If the latch becomes stuck in the open position, the door can open while driving. This could increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact your nearest Kia dealer to arrange an free inspection and fix.

If you have any further questions, you can call Kia Customer Service on 131 542.
