FCA Australia has recalled 280 examples of the 2021-2023 WL-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee to fix a problem with the steering column.
“Due to a manufacturing issue, the steering column shaft could separate from the U-joint. This may result in a loss of steering control,” the recall notice says.
“A loss of steering control could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
Owners of the affected vehicles will be advised to arrange a free fix with their nearest dealer.
