FCA Australia has recalled the 2015-2023 Jeep Cherokee SUV to fix a problem with the Power Transfer Unit.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the differential gear splines inside the Power Transfer Unit may wear out. This could result in a loss of motive power while driving and a loss of the “Park” function while stationary,” the recall notice says.

“A loss of motive power or “PARK” functionality increases the risk of an accident and serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

    • A total of 63 vehicles are included in the recall
    • A VIN list of affected vehicles is attached here
    • The original recall notice is attached here

Owners of the affected vehicles will be advised to arrange a free fix with their nearest dealer.
