Genesis still has yet to confirm any of its X range of two-door concepts for production, but that hasn’t stopped it from revealing yet another.
The Genesis X Snow Speedium is based on the X Speedium fastback concept, and made its in-person debut at the 54th World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland this week.
It’s wrapped in a new snowy white body colour to remain on theme, contrasting with the deep Inje emerald green of the X Speedium.
For the launch, Genesis collaborated with Swiss company Anavon Ski AG, makers of the bespoke, performance alpine skis shown sitting against the vehicle.
The model is fitted with a sleek ski rack on the roof, featuring its own full-width dual-line LED light bar on the rear to echo the tail lights.
Anavon Ski AG represents the “fusion of modern design and precision” emblematic of the X Snow Speedium, according to Genesis.
The brand says this special edition model “drives the signature Genesis design identity into a new era.”
The initial Genesis X concept car was revealed in 2021 as a large, low-slung two-door coupe with traditional GT proportions.
It was followed by the X Speedium fastback coupe in April 2022 and the X convertible in 2022.
As with the X Speedium, there’s a ducktail spoiler, an elliptical scallop, and an aggressive diffuser.
However, it has gained a pair of additional lighting elements at either end of the front bumper.
It also presumably hosts the same interior design of the X Speedium which is inspired by the Korean design principle known as “the Beauty of White Space”.
The minimalist interior of the X Speedium is inspired by Korean architecture and features an asymmetric driver-focused cockpit with a floating console and curved OLED screen.
The X Snow Speedium model was also quietly shown off in a YouTube video posted by Genesis to celebrate the holiday season.
In the CGI video, Santa pilots the X Snow Speedium as it speeds through the snow carrying a Christmas tree on its roof rack, racing past reindeer.
Genesis has been tight-lipped on any details of the concept model, with no indication of a production model to follow.
Upon the launch of the first X Speedium coupe, Genesis chief creative officer Luc Donckerwolke said the purpose of the concept models is to “look into our design processes as we explore ideas for the next wave of EVs”.
With all of the X concepts, Genesis has chosen not to reveal any details of their electric powertrains.
Genesis has previously confirmed it wants to cease sales of petrol and diesel-powered vehicles with an aim to go all-electric by 2030. It is also aiming to be fully carbon-neutral by 2035.
The brand saw an 84.4 per cent increase in sales locally in 2023, outselling Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Jaguar combined.
